BullsEye Mentoring Program

Bulls-EYE Environment: COMING BACK IN 2020!!!

Monday – Thursday, 10am-3pm

Bulls-EYE Environment was developed through a partnership with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and the AEROKATS/ROVER Educational Network. It will incorporate principles of earth science, sustainability, environmental engineering, and remote sensing.

Students will use the National Instruments myRIO platform to learn advanced robotics concepts, remote sensing, and data acquisition.

Middle school students in Bulls-EYE Environment will be engaged through the strong relationships they build with mentors, engineering design activities, and better understanding of the role science and technology plays in their communities. STEM education is most impactful when students feel like part of a community and the application of knowledge correlates to making their community better.

Participants will learn about the engineering design process through activities that will require them to build robotics systems following the PHASES of Success Design Process. This structure allows them to learn and grow alongside mentors who will lead them through personal and professional development experiences. Activities will be completed in teams that consist of one mentor and two mentees. Students will complete weekly activities around the following themes:

The table below provides a summary of the program curriculum. At the conclusion of the program, students will complete a Rites of Passage that will demonstrate to them how far they have come.
