Why become a Bulls-EYE Mentee?
Bulls-EYE Mentees become part of the Bulls-EYE family. The program uses engineering problem solving based activities to unlock the true potential in each student. Mentees build close one on one relationships with Mentors, giving them a positive role model and guiding them along the path for success. Mentees learn how engineers positively impact their community and are empowered with technical skills and life skills that will help them improve each day.
We understand that not every child is destined for a career in engineering. Whether it is a business person, scientist, public servant, or skilled worker, engineering problem solving can be a powerful tool to unlock their potential. Those that do pursue a career in engineering and those that do not are shown how engineers impact society and are exposed to all of the wonderful careers that are related to engineering. Bulls-EYE Mentoring also provides mentees with a supportive environment where they will learn life skills, leadership, and build confidence.
Four tenants are at the core of what you will learn and/or gain as a Bulls-EYE mentee: Potential, humility, empowerment, growth. Upon induction into Bulls-EYE, mentees must repeat the Bulls-EYE Mentee creed. This creed, as shown below, captures the qualities that all Bulls-EYE Mentees must possess.
